Kamisori Straight Razor

This is a hand forged Kamisori style straight razor. The blade was forged from a bar of W1 round bar. It features a double hollow ground blade, and satin belt finish. The edge was ground very thin before final sharpening. It had been sharpened at 17 dps.

This is my first hollow ground blade, done freehand. I think it turned out quite well.

Harpoon EDC/Hunter #3

Here is an EDC/Hunter pattern that I really like making. This is the third knife I have made in this style. The others had hidden lanyards, but I figured I would change it up this time. Variety is the spice of life.

The steel is clay quenched W2 steel. The handle is figured claro walnut, with subtle red G10 liners.

Wa-Bocho and Wa-Petty

Here is a matching set that I made to bring to this year’s KTSA show in Kamloops. The link for the show is here: http://www.ktsa.ca/Gunshow.html

First up is a Wa-Bocho knife. Very similar to a Santoku, but with a slimmer profile. This is made from 15N20 steel. The handle is blue G10, curly Hawaiian Koa, and Gabon ebony.

Mossy Trail #3 – Blue #2 San Mai and Bog Oak

I modified my Mossy Trail hunter slightly, and this is what I have come up with.

The steel is San Mai with Blue #2 (Aogami) core, and low carbon sides. This steel is well known to take a fine edge, and is VERY sharp.

The handle is beautiful Ancient Bog Oak from the Ukraine. There is subtle wood grain with flecks of silver throughout the handle. The wood was stabilized by WSSI.

SPECS:

OAL: 8-3/4″
Blade Length: 4-1/4″
Blade width: 1-1/4″ at the ricasso
Blade: 1/8″ with a tapered tang. Full flat grind, this thing is a slicing machine!
Copper pins and lanyard tube
Comes with a hand stamped, pancake style leather sheath. This style of sheath is very comfortable to wear.
